VEPK Project Staff in Tanzania

In 2000 Mshiri Teachers' Resource Centre was built by VEPK. It is now part of the Moshi Rural District’s cadre of such centres. It is through Mshiri Teachers’ Resource Centre that VEPK first promoted its Whole School Development Programme. That programme has now expanded but still works alongside Mshiri Teachers’ Resource Centre in the Marangu education wards.

George was a teacher-trainer in government teacher-training colleges for many years. George liaises closely with the district education office, and with Singa Chini Teacher Training College, and coordinates the work of our professional volunteers and other facilitators and trainers, as well as organising seminars and workshops and reporting on all aspects of the programme.



Teachers' Resource Centre Staff

Mshiri Teachers' Resource Centre, as part of the District Education Office structure, has eight primary schools within its 'cluster'


Eliwangu Sandi

Eliwangu Sandi

Eliwangu, known as Mama Sandi, is the TRC Coordinator and is an ex-primary school headteacher. The District Education Office approved her appointment to the Teachers' Resource Centre and she works there as a government employee.


Dyness Mangowi

Dyness Mangowi

Dyness is the Librarian of the Teachers' Resource Centre. She also assists Mama Sandi making teaching materials for local teachers. Dyness is developing a reading programme for local children. Dyness is assisted by Doreen Mzava.


Doreen Mzava

Doreen Mzava

Doreen Mzava is the assistant librarian of the Teachers' Resource Centre. Doreen completed secondary education after obtaining O levels. Doreen takes books, posters and science equipment out to primary schools. Doreen is also employed to work in the Guerba Computer Centre.
